[Star Saber laughs quietly. He can see that Smokescreen is very earnest.]

Then a spar it is.

[He draws his sword forward.]

Of course! Wouldn't dream of holding back, I wanna show off! [ And with that he lashes. ]

[brainmaster]

[Star Saber quickly brings up his sword to block, tangling their weapons together. It becomes a contest of strength. Star Saber braces firmly, trying to pull Smokescreen in closer to him.

[ Smokescreen feels his heels dig into the metal as he's being pulled forward. He tugs back with one harsh pull but realizes ah. This guy's a bit of a bigger opponent. He might need to be crafty, as plans his next moment. ]

[Smokescreen is having an ordinary day onboard the R2 when he returns to his own habsuite. Whatever he's expecting when he opens the door, it probably isn't a spider insectkin with purple hair standing by the window, looking out into the cosmos. Though you've only ever seen her once, you remember Lorelai by appearance, even if her name escapes you. A harvester of the Mother of Threads, and someone who had a hand in the recent change in your destiny.

She turns and looks crossly at Smokescreen as though he had just massively inconvenienced her or was late to an appointment he didn't know he had.]

It's about time.

[She says in a slightly snooty, nasally voice.]

It's rude to keep a lady waiting, y'know.

Ah come on! How'd you even break in here!? [ Smokescreen huffs indignantly closing the door behind him. He doesn't sound angry but more exasperated. ]

1. I didn't even know you were coming, 2. .... we can skip that I actually don't know what my complaint was.

[ He moves over to his berth to lean on. ]

[She lets out a loud "hmph" and her legs tap impatiently on the ground.]

You're about to set off on a little errand soon, yes? Involving the Cybertronian Cityspeaker Capybara? Well, I'd like to come with you, as that little annoyance had stolen a valuable artifact from the Totem of Destiny's most sacred churches, and I would love to get it back.

A simple, straight-forward "you help me and I help you" kind of thing, yeah?

[ A pause and consideration. Weighing options and then snaps his fingers pointing it gun like at her. ]

Actually not a half bad idea.

[ It's easier to survive when you're in a group and Smokescreen knows he's rather underwhelming as a Speaker at this time. He'll need all the help he can get. Plus now he's curious about that artifact. Not that he wants it, curiosity just likes knowing. ]

It shouldn't be too hard to gether a team either now that you mention it. Better than running solo.

When we first started, I didn't really take the whole mission seriously, it was just an errand that I had to do for my mother.

Now though, I wanted to say that I'm sorry. I should have done better as your healer, and as a result we lost almost the whole team. If only you could have seen the look on Prime's face when he was the last one standing in the very end, after he did the final blow on the Shade. It was the sort of thing that makes me understand what it means to lose something in a way I hadn't encountered before.

We did good, but the cost was so high.

If you ever need my help again, just call and I'll show up. Next time you see me, I'll be stronger, I promise.

[ Recently Bass requested some important information. Who... is the strongest Cybertronian on this ship. He received a hot tip that it was 'Shockwave' but also 'not the Senator one'. There were a few thoughts that went through his processor. One... it was really dumb that there were two people here with the SAME NAME. It must get confusing! Two, while he does (surprisingly) know what a Senator is, he has no idea what a Senator looks like. Do they wear signs? Bass guesses probably not.

This leads him to one conclusion: He has to fight BOTH of them to make sure he's actually fighting the strong one.

This leads him to a second conclusion: He has no idea where Shockwave lives. He could ask for direction, ask if anyone knows... but that begs the question... If they know how strong Bass is will they even tell the truth?

There is now one solution: He has to canvas the ship himself and check every inhabited room he comes across.

So there's the backstory. And that's why Bass, armored up in his winged Treble armor (being able to fly covers ground quicker!) is pounding aggressively at your door.

If it helps, teamwork is essential. While they were able to go and face down Slaverlord Writhe, what we did to make sure Capybara enjoyed what time he had left was just as important.
Would you not want to comfort an injured comrade in any other situation?
